Logging a Bug:

If you run into issues while using the Bitfocus Companion integration one thing that will help expedite the process of fixing the bug is providing a log file of the events that lead up to the bug. In order to do this open the Companion graphical user interface in your web browser. Then for the eMotimo connection that is showing the bug select the log button.

This will open a new window that will begin logging the events of your connection. Now reproduce the steps you were taking that causes the buggy behavior. Once you have re-produced the bug export the log file and submit the log file with the report of the issue you are running into.

Doing this along with an explanation of the steps you were taking when you ran into your issue will give a lot of insight into what could be going wrong and will speed up the bug fixing process significantly.

This logging screen can also be very useful when creating your own custom buttons or using API commands that do not yet have pre-made buttons available for use yet.
