Setup and Settings checks
- Power on your Conductor.
- Make sure you I/O port is Settings-->Port Settings --> IO Port: Beltless Sensor (should already be set as its the default)
- Check your Settings --> Slider: is set to RigWheels. This is important as wheel diameter for our beltless solutions varies. If you select the wrong slider, markers may not be detected.
- Left until you see the main menu.
- Go into Live Motion and drive around and monitor you sensor board LED's. Green and Red LED's should be OFF when running over "clear" track. They should not be flickering, one should not be on solid. They should be OFF as this indicates that they are getting a clear reflection of the monorail track.
- When running over a black marker sticker, either the middle markers or end stops, we should see the LED's turn on and off cleanly as the sensors loose their track reflection signal.
- If you are having troubles with this - STOP here. Your calibration will fail as you don't yet have a proper setup for the sensors to return good signals from your track.
If you validated your sensor install above move on.
Beltless Sensors configurations- Concepts and direction
There are two main ways you can use your Monorail -
- Run and Gun mode - good for quick startup and ping pong setups that are being run continously. Corrections will apply. No end stops auto set.
- Calibrate Track Mode - Full and most accurate calibration where we fully understand all markers and end stops and set them through a 1-2 minute hands off process. In the future this track data will be saved and loaded and validated. Good for permanent installs in multicamera environment.
Run and Gun mode - turn it on and go with a single middle marker.
- Best practice is to have a single middle marker that you run over slowly both directions before setting up your first move.
- End Stop Marker do not set limits - we recommend you remove them for clarity, but they can be left in place. If those markers are traversed, they will be treated like any other marker and offer correction during run.
- Interview Monster, Programmed Shots, and Live Motion all will register markers and apply corrections.
Calibrate Track Mode - Guided -->Calibrate Track
This method requires end stop makers and runs a slow methodical routine to read and carefully store the track. Follow instructions to Set Home Position where you sensor board is 2-3 inches to the left of your main middle marker (can be marker A,B,C, or D, but not an End Stop). Once you start Track Calibration it will find the first marker and then seek out the end stops and any other markers placed on the track. This will take 1-3 minutes depending on how long your track is. When complete it will return to the home position and be ready to set a move.
- The track markers are accurately and fully recorded
- The end stops on left and right of the track are no your limit points.
New - Correction Behavior and Feedback
Ping Pong calibration (both run and gun and calibrate mode)
"Err value" added for inches/cm (depending on unit setting in Interview Settings) displayed lower left dim
Corrections happen at end point during dwell - big ones will be visible
