Who we are:
It's an exciting time at eMotimo. In early 2018, we transitioned from a San Francisco Bay Area company to a San Diego company. If you know Top Gun, Miramar is basically our backyard. We are parked in a wonderful industrial area with manufacturing sources and support all around us.
The move left us with great space and a wide-open field for transitioning our business. eMotimo was a boutique motion control provider known in the industry for making high-quality, high-value timelapse rigs for pros and hobbyists. For our first 3 versions of products and accessories, 80% of what we did was timelapse, with 20% focused on video production for products/food/fashion. eMotimo as a timelapse company was accurate for our first 4 years, and the branding and reputation stuck.
We released our completely new flagship product, the spectrum ST4 and won a 2017 Red Dot Design award for it. The capability for the spectrum to shoot live, with heavier cameras, in completely quiet settings, was still an industry secret. It was clear that we were being held back by the accessories we integrated with. The sliders were the same ones that supported our timelapse users. They were lightweight, easy to pack, and strong-enough to support heavy DSLR rigs, but didn't hold up with heavier weight cameras.
In 2017, we moved towards heavier slider setups and partnered with Dana Dolly, the leader in the speed rail space. We created a kit that was purpose-built for interviews, tabletop shooting, VFX, and timelapse. The kit launched late last year and is getting good traction in the space, with adoption from high-end users.
Moving forward, eMotimo's best ideas are still on paper and in our heads. We need help to bring them to the world faster! We are looking for motivated and smart individuals to roll up their sleeves and continue to push the motion control industry forward with new accessory kits, new heads, and new interfaces.
eMotimo moves fast and breaks rules. We are a thorn in the side of larger companies that would rather rely on stale brands and designs. Do you thrive in an unstructured environment? Do you have a passion for making things and making your mark in this world? Maybe eMotimo is right for you.
