When Should I Choose Studio vs. ST4.3?
Choose Spectrum Studio
If you are working in broadcast or multi-camera environments where you anticipate connecting the device for network control (Companion, Skaarhoj, or upcoming controllers from eMotimo), Spectrum Studio was built for you.
By adding a dedicated network adapter and powered ports to support our beltless dolly solutions, we created a head that is easier to rig and optimized for the most common broadcast shooting scenarios.
Menus and options are organized specifically for broadcast workflows, rather than trying to combine field-based shooting options into the same interface.
Future developments in network control and remote multi-camera operation are focused on Spectrum Studio and our Conductor SA2.6.
Choose Spectrum ST4.3
If you are an individual owner-operator focused on interviews, product shooting, VFX, or stop motion, the Spectrum ST4.3 is more tailored to those workflows.
If you occasionally need to connect to a network, you can purchase our Network Adapter. However, keep in mind that with the ST4.3 you cannot simultaneously use network control and our beltless dolly solutions.
Network control on the ST4.3 does work with our original belted motor options.
