General Setup
For every use on either the RS2 or RS3 /RS3Pro / RS4Pro and anytime you change payloads
- Mount your camera
- Balance the gimbal while it is off - this tutorial is good - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIBhPMaVMOc
- Calibrate the gimbal - Turn on the gimbal and select the AutoTune icon. Select Start Calibration to tune up the motors for you camera/lens combination. Either normal or supersmooth works well for most shots.
RS3 Setup
Setting up your RS3 for the First Time
For the best performance on your RS3 Gimbal, you will want to follow the following configuration steps:
- Swipe up on the Home screen
- Set the Joystick Speed to Medium or Low
- Set the Joystick smoothness to Medium or Low
- Use the Mode Switch on side of gimbal and set to PTF (Recommended) or PF. Make sure you are not in FPV mode.
- Note: If you need to use FPV mode you will need to set the Follow Mode from the home screen to custom as the FPV default disables the Pan and Roll control. We don't recommend you do this as the other basic modes work fine.
DJI RS3 Focus Motor Setup
Note: The DJI 2022 Focus Motor and the RS2 Focus Motor should both work with the RS3 Gimbal
- Plug the Focus Motor into the Middle USB-C port on the RS3 Gimbal
- On the RS3, Swipe up on the Home screen
- Set the Dial function to the focus motor
- Swipe down to return to the main menu and swipe down again then select the settings menu
- Scroll down in the settings menu and find the Focus Motor Endpoints screen
- Choose the Manual Endpoints
- Use the dial to move your Focus motor to one endpoint and select Set Start Point
- Use the dial again to move your focus motor to the other endpoint and select Set End Point
- Select Done when finished and now that your Focus motor is calibrated the SA2.6 can control the Focus Motor using the L2/R2 Triggers (Default Mapping) on the Remote Controller
- Note: If the SA2.6 is not able to control the DJI Focus motor it is likely that the motor got reset and needs to be recalibrated
RS2 Setup
Setting up your RS2 for the First Time
For the best performance on your RS2 Gimbal, you will want to follow the following configuration steps:

- Set the Joystick smoothness to Medium or Low
