Any SA2.6 Conductor firmware that has the I/O port set to Ext. Trig, can turn on and test your track sensors, but only certain firmware has the routines to calibrate and correct based on sensor feedback.
- Update your firmware! Firmware pages for are linked here: Spectrum ST4 Firmware page or Conductor SA2.6 Firmware page
- Make sure you sensors are installed and working correctly.
- Make sure you I/O port is Settings-->Port Settings --> IO Port: Ext. Trig (should already be set as its the default)
- Power up your unit
- Make sure the drive wheel is fully engaged.
- Make sure the sensor board is powered (especially for spectrum ST4 where you need to power via USB)
- In Live Motion, and using the remote, drive your Dana dolly over and back slowly (about 1 inch a second) the middle sensor. This is telling our Conductor or Spectrum brain where the marker is on the track!
- Return to the Guided Menu.
- Set up and Interview Monster shot. Make sure your Start and End Points for the move span the middle sensor. The conductor needs to "see" that sensor for constant calibration.
- Run it and watch it go. If all is working correctly when it comes to the stop on the right hand side, if there is an error measured, it will correct and resume the move.
- Note, if you are seeing corrections of more than a few of mm or 1/4" regularly, check the spring force. If there is very little pressure, then the wheel is slipping. If you see lots and lots of slipping and don't know what our locking pins are . . . then review how to engage and disengage the motor.
