Connect Maestro to your Conductor or Spectrum Studio motion controllers over your network. This guide covers updating controller firmware, configuring network settings, and using Platform, Maestro’s browser-based configurator, to discover and connect your controllers. Follow the section for your controller first, then complete the Maestro configuration steps.
Conductor configuration
- Find the microSD card included with your Conductor. Update your Conductor to the latest Maestro-compatible firmware. View the latest Conductor firmware update and instructions.
- Connect Conductor to your network.
- Go to Settings → Settings Page 4/6 → Reset NetAdapt.
- Go to Settings → Port Settings → Net Adapter Config and change Network Port to Maestro.
- Select Net. Adapt. Config.
- Configure your network here. If you plan to use a Static IP for Conductor and Maestro, set their IPs on the same subnet, and reserve those IP addresses on your network so no other devices can take those IP addresses while your Spectrum and Maestro are powered down.
- Scroll down to the bottom of Network Configuration and select Auto-Configure.
Spectrum Studio configuration
- Find the microSD card included with your Spectrum Studio. Update your Spectrum Studio to the latest Maestro-compatible firmware. View the firmware update instructions.
- Connect Spectrum Studio to your network.
- Go to Settings → Settings Page 6/7 → Reset NetAdapt.
- Go to Settings → Settings Page 3/7 → Net Adapter Config.
- Configure your network here. If you plan to use a Static IP for Spectrum Studio and Maestro, set their IPs on the same subnet, and reserve those IP addresses on your network so no other devices can take those IP addresses while your Spectrum and Maestro are powered down.
- Scroll down to page 4 and change Net Protocol to Maestro.
- Select Auto-Configure.
Maestro configuration
- Power on your motion controllers and connect Maestro via Ethernet to the same network and subnet. Power Maestro using PoE+ or the included USB-C power adapter.
-
On Maestro’s Home screen, locate Set up Maestro in Platform. From a phone, tablet, or computer connected to the same network, scan the QR code shown on your Maestro or enter the displayed address in a web browser. Use the address on your own Maestro; the address in the screenshot is an example.
- Sign in to Platform using the following default credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: eMotimo
- In Platform, go to the Controllers page and click Auto Detect on the right side of the page.
- With Maestro and your motion controllers on the same subnet, Maestro should discover your Conductor or Spectrum Studio and connect automatically.
-
If the motion controllers are not auto-detected, check your network and port settings. You can also try adding the controller manually
