Spectrum ST4 Overview
The Spectrum ST4 is a robotic, 4-axis motion control head for cinematic video and timelapse photography. Our goal in designing the ST4 was to give users a motion control head that was powerful enough to handle cinema video cameras, light enough to take on the go, and robust enough to be customized to fit the needs of any situation.
Two axes, pan and tilt, are internal to the unit; the other two are controlled via motor ports on the side of the unit. In a standard setup, these control slide (M3) and the eMotimo Fz Focus Motor (M4), but can be customized with other eMotimo accessories, external motors, or custom accessories to suit your specific needs.
Get to know the eMotimo Knowledge Base
Experienced shooters know that adding motion control means adding a new tool to their toolkit. We created the eMotimo knowledge base to document that tool giving both new and experienced users the confidence to replicate (or improve upon) any shot.
- We recommend new users download the full instruction manual, as well as a copy of the quick start guide that was included in your kit. You can find the full instruction manual at the bottom of this page in the attachments section. Download the Quick Start Guide here (Also in the attachments section).
- The instructional videos in this section cover many aspects of the ST4. We have additional videos to cover any accessories that came with your purchase, such as the Fz Focus, Cart, or Turntable as well.
- If you purchased the ST4 with Dana Dolly integration, we encourage you to look at the Dana Dolly Setup Guide and Belt Routing These cover basic setup of the ST4 and Dana Dolly, common problems that users encounter, and how to solve these.
- We built the Spectrum ST4 with the ability to improve it's functionality through frequent firmware updates. Make sure to check in often to ensure your spectrum has the latest firmware.
