If you have a new PS4 or PS5 remote, or paired the gaming remote with another system or Sony Playstation, you will need to re-pair it with the SA2.6 before the remote can be used. Remotes can only be paired to one system at a time. This pairing procedure only has do be done once - not every time you want to connect a remote.
Dongle/Remote repairing:
- Ensure the remote is fully charged. We recommend plugging your remote into a computer USB port as not all wall adapters are compatible. Remember look for that orange glow!
- Power on the SA2.6 by plugging it in
- Using the 8-way Navstick on the side of the SA2.6, navigate to Settings –> Pair New Remote (3rd page down as of the latest firmware), but do not click the 8-way Navstick to select this yet.
- Ensure any SA2.6, PlayStation, or other device which the remote was connected to is powered off or well out of range.
- On the SA2.6 remote, place your left thumb on the Share button near the top left of the controller and your right thumb on the PS button, centered between the two joysticks. Press and hold both buttons for 5-7 seconds until the LED around the touchpad of the remote starts a fast short double-blink, then release both buttons.
- On the SA2.6, press the 8-way button to select the Pair New Remote option. The selection will highlight for a few seconds while the remote pairs. When complete, the LED on the remote will light solid blue , and the SA2.6 display will “unhighlight” the text.
- Confirm the remote is now active by using the D-Pad to scroll through the options menu. The remote should remain paired unless it is paired to another system.
- Test your connection. Turn off the remote by pressing and holding the PS button until the remote's LED turns off. Then unplug the SA2.6, wait 1 second and plug it in.
- Connect the remote normally by pressing and releasing the PS button. The LED will pulse blue and then turn solid blue when it connects to the SA2.6.
- If you can successfully connect your remote normally, then you are all set!
