1. Check SA2.6 Firmware is up to date
As of August 19, 2026, we released a firmware update that makes configuring the network more consistent. As of the time of this writing, SA2_R026_001_SP2 and beyond should have updated the code to resolve issues: SA2.6 Firmware - Update Instructions and Release Notes
2. Reset your Network Adapter
The network adapter inside the Conductor is its own microprocessor and if its settings get out of sync with the Conductor, reliable connections and settings changes can be an issue. To factor Reset your Conductor:
- Unplug your Network Cable - if you have an active connection over IP, we cannot reset the NetAdapter.
- Go into Settings, and use the right arrow or lots of downs to get the page where you see Reset NetAdapt. Select this, confirm and wait. It will show and update screen and progress over about 5-10 seconds.
- When complete, power cycle your Conductor.
3. Configure your Conductor for Network Communication Type
- Once powered up, Settings --> Ports Settings - Check that you have selected your Network interface (eMotimo API, Skaarhoj, Companion). If you are changing this, then exit to the Setting's menu until you see see the main menu (left) until you see Guided, Programmed Shots, etc.
- Now your Conductor is set up to communicate. If using Skaarhoj, or Companion, or eMotimo controller, we want to make sure that controller isn't going to try to talk to it while we are configuring the network.
4. Configure your Conductor's IP and Port - One time setup
- Keep your controller (Skaarhoj, Maestro, Companion) unplugged from the nework, or turned off. Plug in your Network cable to the Conductor, wait 10 seconds for your network to assign and IP address to the Conductor. - Goal here is to get your IP configuration initially on the Conductor set without a controller trying to talk to it.
- On Conductor's Settings->Port Settings--> Enter Net. Adapt. Config.
- Your screen should populate with the current IP setup assigned from your network. Make note of it. The defaults should be shown:
- DHCP with IP, Gateway, Mask assigned from your router - make note of this
- Baudrate - 230400 (not users settable)
- Port: 5000
- Name - EMOTSA_XXXXX - where XXXXX is your unit's serial
- Page through the settings by hitting down to see the defaults set up.
- If you wish to set a Static IP address, or change your port, do so and then go to the last page and hit Configure and wait for it to complete. Make note of this. This will exit you to Port Settings Menu.
- Power Cycle your SA2.6 Conductor.
- Milestone - your Conductor is ready for a Network Connection from your controller with the IP and port you specified or was shown.
- Important Note - On Conductor, after the above configuration, when should you enter and click into Net. Adapt. Config. again?- Never. Do not use this a way to check IP, or reset anything on broken connections. Any time you enter this it will break the connection to your controller and require that you reset the connection at the controller.
5. Connect your Network Controller (Maestro, Skaarhoj, Companion)
- Power up or connect your controller (Maestro, Skaarhoj, Companion) and attempt to connect to the Conductor with your noted IP and port. It should connect and control the Conductor.
- Important Note - Your Conductor should not be in the Net. Adapt. Config Screens. On Conductor, after initial configuration and connection, when should you enter and click into Net. Adapt. Config. again?- Never. Do not use this a way to check IP, or reset anything on broken connections. Any time you enter this it will break the connection to your controller and require that you reset the connection at the controller.
6. Real world use for startups
- If you power down and power up (power cycle) your Conductor and your Controller (Maestro, Skaarhoj, Companion) is already up and looking for connections to this device, it should find it without any further action. Power order of Conductor and Controller should not matter.
- Test on initial install that this is functional and reliable.
