Plug your Network Adapter into the ST4
Plug the Ethernet cable into the Network Adapter
Power on the Network Adapter
Power on the ST4
Navigate to the Settings menu
Scroll down and select IO Port
Set the IO Port to API/NetAdapt
Scroll down and select Net. Adapt Config
Set IP Type to DHCP (Note: This will let the network assign you a valid IP Address. Once you have received a valid IP Address, if you plan on changing networks, this can be changed back to static)
Scroll down to bottom of last page and select Auto-Configure (Note: Pressing Auto-Configure is what starts the configuration process. Changing settings and not pressing Auto-Configure will not save any of the changes to your Network Adapter)
Wait until configured (Takes ~5seconds)
Scroll back to top page of the configuration
Write down the IP address, username and password of your network adapter
Exit the Net. Adapt Config screen back to the settings menu
On your computer, open a web browser and enter the IP address of your network adapter into the address bar
You will be prompted to login to your network adapter
Enter the username and password recorded from your ST4
Once logged in select the Serial Port tab
Set your Serial Port Parameters to match below: (Warning: This example assumes your unreal engine computer IP address is 192.168.0.147 - make yours match your IP ) --Key Things here are: Work Mode: UDP Client --Remote Port Number: Use 54322 (our default) or another port if your network admin has opinions. --Remote Server Addr: - Set it to your remote computer address of your Unreal Engine Computer --Known Issue: Leading 0's for the remote server address are not handled consistently. Leave off leading 0's for any of the octets. Examples: Enter 192.168.1.45 instead of 192.168.001.045 Enter 10.10.10.1 instead of 010.010.010.001 Recommend you save restart and verify your remote server address.
To confirm the IP address of your computer where Unreal Engine is installed, open the command prompt and enter the command ‘ipconfig’ and look for the IPv4 address this is highlighted below
Once your Serial Port parameters have been configured and your Remote Server Addr. matches the IP address of the computer that will be running Unreal Engine select Save and restart the Network Adapter to finish updating the configuration
Now back on the ST4 in the Settings menu select the IO Port and set it to Unreal (Y-Slide or X-Slide)
Your ST4 and Network Adapter are now ready to work with Unreal Engine
