Configuration 1 - Add a single Tilta Nucleus-M Motor:
This motor can serve as EITHER a focus motor, a zoom motor, or an iris motor.
You will need two pieces of equipment (sold as a single kit directly from Tilta – linked below).
This kit includes a single Tilta Nucleus-M Motor and the 7-pin to 7-pin 55cm cable (both seen in the photo below)
WLC-T03-M1 Nucleus-M Motor Kit I – SKU: WLC-T03-M1
When hooked up to the spectrum, that single cable is all you need to connect the ST4.3's EXT port to either port of the Nucleus-M Motor.
Configuration 2: Add two Tilta Nucleus-M Motors
In this configuration, you will be using two Tilta Nucleus-M Motors. These motors can serve as any two of the following: Focus motor, Zoom motor, or Iris motor. We recommend purchasing TWO of the single motor kits listed below.
2.1 First Nucleus-M Motor Kit I – SKU: WLC-T03-M1 WLC-T03-M1
2.1 Second Nucleus-M Motor Kit I – SKU: WLC-T03-M1 WLC-T03-M1
Currently, Tilta is including a 55cm 7-pin to 7-pin cable with their individual motors and with the kit. The cable that runs between the ST4.3 and the first Tilta Nucleus-M MUST BE 55cm in length. A shorter cable will not work. If you are ordering a replacement cable to run between your first Tilta motor and the ST4.3, use the guide below.
The cables that chain the motors together CAN be shorter if desired but please take real-world measurements and plan around a lens that you intend on using. We say this because hypothetically, User A might find it ideal to line both of their motors up RIGHT next to each other. In that instance, the 18cm cable would be more than enough to chain Motor 1 to Motor 2. User B might want to run two different rails (one for each motor). If one rail/motor is mounted to the upper portion of the L Bracket, and the other rail/motor is mounted to the lower portion of the L Bracket, then likely 18cm will prove to be insufficient.
Configuration 3: Add two Tilta Nucleus-M Motors with the Hand Controller
In this configuration, you will be using TWO Tilta Nucleus-M Motors (+ Hand Controller). These motors can serve as any two of the following: Focus motor, Zoom motor, or Iris motor. The kit we recommend also includes a hand controller. Adding the hand controller gives a user another option for controlling and setting up programmed shots. If you are already good at pulling focus, then this makes recording a focus pull live even easier.
You will need four pieces of equipment (three of which are sold as a single kit and the last needed piece being sold separately by Tilta - both linked below).
3.1 WLC-T03-K4 (Partial Kit IV) - Nucleus-M: Wireless Lens Control System (Partial Kit IV) SKU: WLC-T03-K4
3.2 - WLC-T03-7P-S-55 (55cm) - Nucleus-M 7-Pin to 7-Pin Motor to Motor Connection Cable SKU: WLC-T03-7P-S-55
As noted above in configuration 2, Tilta is currently including a 55cm 7-pin to 7-pin cable with their individual motors and with the kit. The cable that runs between the ST4.3 and the Tilta Nucleus-M Motor One cable, MUST BE 55cm in length. A shorter cable will not work.
Configuration 4: Add three Tilta Nucleus-M Motors with the Hand Controller
In this configuration, you will be using three Tilta Nucleus-M Motors. These motors can serve as a Focus motor, Zoom motor, and an Iris motor. Full 7-axis control is currently only supported when using Dragonframe. The kit we recommend for this is a combination of the kits mentioned above. We’ve broken them down below:
Nucleus-M: Wireless Lens Control System (Partial Kit IV) SKU: WLC-T03-K4 - WLC-T03-K4 (Partial Kit IV)
Nucleus-M Motor Kit I – SKU: WLC-T03-M1 WLC-T03-M1
Nucleus-M 7-Pin to 7-Pin Motor to Motor Connection Cable SKU: WLC-T03-7P-S-55 - WLC-T03-7P-S-55 (55cm)
